MH-CLD Data Now Available on PDAS

The following Mental Health Client-Level Data are now available on the Public-use Data Analysis System site:

MH-CLD and the Mental Health Treatment Episode Data Set (MH-TEDS) provide information on mental health diagnoses and the mental health treatment services, outcomes, and demographic and substance use characteristics of individuals in mental health treatment facilities that report to individual state administrative data systems.

2021 Q4 Quick Statistics for TEDS

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration today announced the release of the 2021 Q4 Quick Statistics for the Treatment Episode Data Set (TEDS). The Quick Statistics tool provides state profiles for TEDS, National Survey of Substance Abuse Treatment Services, and National Mental Health Services Survey data. The TEDS is a national data system of annual admissions to and discharges from substance abuse treatment facilities.

SAMHSA Releases New NSDUH 2019-2020 State Data Tables and Reports

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration is pleased to announce the release of the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) 2019-2020 State Data Tables and Reports. The combined 2019 and 2020 NSDUH reports provide state estimates for select measures of substance use and mental health outcomes by age group (e.g., aged 12 or older, 12 to 17, 18 to 25, and 26 or older and 12 to 20 for alcohol measures). NSDUH is an annual survey of the U.S. civilian, noninstitutionalized population aged 12 years or older.

SAMHSA Releases N-MHSS 2020 Annual Report

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration today announced the release of the National Mental Health Services Survey (N-MHSS) 2020 Annual Report. This report presents findings from the 2020 N-MHSS, an annual census of all known facilities in the United States, both public and private, that provide mental health treatment services to people with mental illness. The N-MHSS is designed to collect data on the location, characteristics, and use of organized mental health treatment services for facilities within the scope of the survey throughout the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and other jurisdictions.

New NSDUH 2020 Public-Use File on SAMHDA

The National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) 2020 public-use file is the latest in the NSDUH series. The NSDUH 2020 data are available to download on the SAMHDA site. NSDUH is the primary source of statistical information on the use of tobacco, alcohol, prescription drugs, and illicit drugs by the U.S. civilian, noninstitutionalized population aged 12 or older. The survey also includes several series of questions that focus on mental health issues.

SAMHSA Releases New NSDUH 2020 Annual Report and Detailed Tables

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration is pleased to announce the release of the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) 2020 Annual Report. This report includes narratives and detailed tables that present estimates from the 2020 NSDUH. The 2020 NSDUH Detailed Tables provide national estimates of substance use and mental health for that year. The 2020 Methodological Summary and Definitions report reviews 2019 NSDUH methods used for generating estimates of substance use and mental health issues.

TEDS-A and TEDS-D Public-Use Files on SAMHDA

The Treatment Episode Data Set - Admissions (TEDS-A) concatenated 2000-2019 and  2019 public-use files are available on the SAMHDA site. In addition, the Treatment Episode Data Set: Discharges (TEDS-D) 2019 public-use files are also available. TEDS is a national data system of annual admissions to and discharges from substance abuse treatment facilities.
