TEDS-A and TEDS-D Public-Use Files on PDAS

The Treatment Episode Data Set: Admissions (TEDS-A) concatenated 2000–2019 and  2019 public-use files are available on the Public-Use Data Analysis System site. In addition, the Treatment Episode Data Set: Discharges (TEDS-D) 2019 public-use files are also available. TEDS is a national data system of annual admissions to and discharges from substance abuse treatment facilities.

Updated TEDS-A and TEDS-D Public-Use Files Available on PDAS

The Treatment Episode Data Set: Admissions (TEDS-A) 2000s public-use files have been updated and are available on the Public-use Data Analysis System site. In addition, the Treatment Episode Data Set: Discharges (TEDS-D) 2018 public-use files are also updated. The TEDS is a national data system of annual admissions to and discharges from substance abuse treatment facilities.

2020 N-SSATS Public-Use Files Available on PDAS

The National Survey of Substance Abuse Treatment Services (N-SSATS) 2020 public-use files are available on the Public-use Data Analysis System site. The N-SSATS is an annual census designed to collect information from all facilities within the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. territories, both public and private, that provide substance abuse treatment. The N-SSATS provides the mechanism for quantifying the dynamic character and composition of the U.S. substance abuse treatment delivery system.

The Mental Health Client-Level Data (MH-CLD) 2013-2018 public-use files are available on the SAMHDA site:

The MH-CLD and the Mental Health Treatment Episode Data Set provide information on mental health diagnoses and the mental health treatment services, outcomes, and demographic and substance use characteristics of people in mental health treatment facilities. This information comes from facilities that report to individual state administrative data systems.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration today announced the release of the National Survey of Substance Abuse Treatment Services (N-SSATS) 2020 Annual Report. This report presents results from the 2020 National Survey of Substance Abuse Treatment Services (N-SSATS), an annual census of facilities providing substance abuse treatment. The N-SSATS is designed to collect data on the location, characteristics, and use of alcohol and drug abuse treatment facilities and services throughout the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and other jurisdictions.

SAMHSA Releases TEDS 2019 Annual Report

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration today announced the release of the Treatment Episode Data Set (TEDS) 2019 Annual Report. This report presents national- and state-level data from the Treatment Episode Data Set (TEDS) for admissions and discharges occurring in 2019, and trend data from 2009 to 2019. It summarizes demographic information and the characteristics and outcomes of treatment for alcohol and/or drug use among clients aged 12 years and older in facilities that report to individual state administrative data systems. Data include records for treatment admissions and discharges that were received and processed through November 3, 2020.

SAMHSA Releases URS 2020 Output Tables

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration today announced the release of the Uniform Reporting System (URS) 2020 Output Tables. The URS state reporting system is collected annually to support the Community Mental Health Services Block Grant program. State Mental Health Authorities report on National Outcome Measures (NOMS), evidence-based practices, and utilization measures providing an overview of state mental health delivery systems.

SAMHSA Releases MH-CLD 2019 Annual Report

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration today announced the release of the Mental Health Client-Level Data (MH-CLD) 2019 Annual Report. This report presents results from the Mental Health Client-Level Data (MH-CLD) and Mental Health Treatment Episode Data Set (MH-TEDS) for individuals receiving mental health services from state mental health systems in 2019, as well as selected trends in data collected from such individuals between 2014 and 2019. The report provides information on mental health diagnoses, mental health treatment settings, and demographic and substance use characteristics of individuals in mental health treatment in facilities that reported to individual state administrative data systems.
