MH-CLD 2018 Available on SAMHDA

The Mental Health Client-Level Data (MH-CLD) 2018 public-use files are available on the SAMHDA site. The MH-CLD and the Mental Health Treatment Episode Data Set provide information on mental health diagnoses and the mental health treatment services, outcomes, and demographic and substance use characteristics of people in mental health treatment facilities. This information comes from facilities that report to individual state administrative data systems.

New NSDUH 2019 Public-Use File on PDAS

The National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) 2019 public-use file is the latest in the NSDUH series. The NSDUH 2019 data are available to download on the Public-use Data Analysis System site. NSDUH is the primary source of statistical information on the use of tobacco, alcohol, prescription drugs, and illicit drugs by the U.S. civilian, noninstitutionalized population aged 12 or older. The survey also includes several series of questions that focus on mental health issues.

Updated N-SSATS 2019 Public-Use Files Available on PDAS

The National Survey of Substance Abuse Treatment Services (N-SSATS) 2019 public-use files have been updated and are available on the Public-use Data Analysis System site. The N-SSATS is an annual census designed to collect information from all facilities within the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. territories, both public and private, that provide substance abuse treatment. The N-SSATS provides the mechanism for quantifying the dynamic character and composition of the U.S. substance abuse treatment delivery system.

2020 Q3 Quick Statistics for TEDS, N-SSATS, and N-MHSS

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration today announced the release of the 2020 Q3 Quick Statistics for Treatment Episode Data Set (TEDS), National Survey of Substance Abuse Treatment Services (N-SSATS), and National Mental Health Services Survey (N-MHSS). The Quick Statistics tool provides state profiles for TEDS, N-SSATS, and N-MHSS data. The TEDS is a national data system of annual admissions to and discharges from substance abuse treatment facilities. The N-SSATS is an annual survey of facilities providing substance abuse treatment. The N-MHSS is an annual survey of facilities providing mental health treatment.

In addition, the Treatment Episode Data Set – Discharges (TEDS-D) 2018 public-use files are also available. The TEDS is a national data system of annual admissions to and discharges from substance abuse treatment facilities.

SAMHSA Releases TEDS 2018 Annual Report

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration today announced the release of the Treatment Episode Data Set (TEDS) 2018 Annual Report. This report presents national- and state-level data from the Treatment Episode Data Set for admissions and discharges occurring in 2018, and trend data from 2008 to 2018. It summarizes demographic information and the characteristics and outcomes of treatment for alcohol and/or drug use among clients aged 12 years and older in facilities that report to individual state administrative data systems. Data include records for treatment admissions and discharges that were received and processed through November 18, 2019.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration today announced the release of the National Survey of Substance Abuse Treatment Services (N-SSATS) 2019 State Profiles. These state profiles include data from facilities that reported to N-SSATS for the survey reference date March 29, 2019. The N-SSATS collects data on the location, characteristics, services offered, and number of clients (collected every other year) in treatment at alcohol and drug abuse treatment facilities (public and private) throughout the 50 states, the District of Columbia, U.S. territories, and other jurisdictions.

SAMHSA Releases N-MHSS 2019 State Profiles

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration today announced the release of the National Mental Health Services Survey (M-MHSS) 2019 State Profiles. These state profiles include data from facilities that reported to N-MHSS for the survey reference date April 30, 2019. The N-MHSS collects data on the location, characteristics, services offered, and number of clients (collected every other year) in treatment at mental health treatment facilities (public and private) throughout the 50 states, the District of Columbia, U.S. territories, and other jurisdictions.
